They [Greenpeace] forgot their original purpose and turned into a big, rich bureaucracy, more interested in fund-raising than in saving lives, so I got fed up and quit… they’re a bunch of wimps.
Government funding that’s coming from the United States is making a huge difference on the ground in the developing world. It’s really palpable – it’s making a huge difference saving lives.
If I could be a doctor and save lives I would, but I can’t so I sing songs.
What is the possible benefit? Can this material save lives? Can it improve the quality of life in Iraq? Can it tend to shape our perceptions of how war should and should not be conducted? Can it shape our perceptions of who should be conducting war and in what manner? And the answer to that is a clear yes.
Anytime we can save lives or prevent the destruction of property, we should do it.
So not only are we saving lives now, we’re creating the incentive for the breakthroughs that over the next generation will mean we can take AIDS, malaria and TB and bring those numbers dramatically down.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but foresight is better, especially when it comes to saving life, or some pain!
The gun lobby whips up people and makes them believe that President Obama or I are coming for their guns. Well, that’s ridiculous. And he’s said it, I have said it. But we do want to save lives by keeping a gun from somebody who shouldn’t have it.
Beyond its entertainment value, ‘Baywatch’ has enriched and, in many cases, helped save lives. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to continue with a project which has had such a significance for so many.
